How long is the Visit York Pass valid?+
When you buy, you choose between 1, 2 or 3 days, so you can match the duration to the length of your stay. More details under Prices.
When does the validity start?+
The pass activates on the start date you select the first time you open the digital web app. For the 1- and 2-day pass, the days run consecutively. The 3-day pass is more flexible: according to Visit York, it's valid for any 3 days within 6 days of activation.
How do I receive the pass after purchase?+
You receive a link to your digital pass by email, ready to use on your smartphone. No collection point, no printing required.
How do I use the pass on the day?+
Simply show your digital pass at the entrance of each attraction. Full instructions and any notes can be found in your booking confirmation.
Can I visit an attraction more than once?+
Each attraction allows one entry per pass. You can visit many different attractions, each of them once.
Do I need to book a time slot for attractions?+
At most attractions you simply show your pass at the entrance. Some attractions recommend or require a timed entry booking. Check with the individual operator and your booking confirmation for any such requirements.

Is the Hop-On/Hop-Off Bus included?+
Yes. The Hop-On/Hop-Off bus ticket is part of the Visit York Pass and connects the city's main sights by double-decker.
Does the pass cover local buses and trains?+
The pass includes the Hop-On/Hop-Off sightseeing bus, not the regular local bus or rail network. York's historic city centre is compact and many highlights are easily reached on foot.

Cancellation & other queries
Can I cancel the Visit York Pass?+
The applicable cancellation and exchange conditions are shown in the booking window and in your booking confirmation. A pass that has not yet been activated is generally more flexible than one that has already started.
What happens if I do not use the pass?+
As long as you have not activated the pass, the validity period has not started. The days only begin from the start date you choose when you first open the web app.
